SHARON LO

Piano & Vocal Teacher

Sharon Lo received her Master of Art (Music) Degree at Hong Kong Baptist University and Bachelor of Art (Music) Degree at the University of Queensland, Australia. There she studied Music Education courses with Dr. Julie Ballantyne and Dr. Fanny Chung, Piano Pedagogy with Dr. Helen Cha, Music History with Dr. Denis Collins, Composing with Dr. Simon Perry, Music Therapy with Dr. Kylie Morgan, Jazz and Pop Music with Dr. Peter Freeman, Conducting with Prof. Graeme Morton and Prof. Antoni Bonetti, Kodaly Aural with Prof. Aleta King and Prof. Réka Csernyik as an all-round Musician.  In Australia, she played in various music concerts with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra at major venues such as the Queensland Performing Art Centre, the Suncrop Stadium and more.


    Having over a decade of both national and international experience teaching with diverse groups, Sharon obtained her Orff Schulerk Teacher’s Certificates from the Australian National Council of Orff Schulerk with Dr. Carol Richards, attended Orff Teacher’s Training Workshops with the Queensland Orff Schulwerk Association, and participated in the International Dalcroze Workshop hosted by the Dalcroze Society.  She received training from the Yamaha Music School and complimented by her natural perfect pitch which helps children to improve their aural skills.  She also took part in the Infant Massage Instructor’s Training Course runs by the Infant Massage Information Service, Australia (IMIS), and the Community African Drum Facilitator Training by Arthur Hull.


    Sharon started to play piano and harp from a young age, and has since won numerous prizes in the Annual Hong Kong Schools Music Festivals, including multiple champion and runner-up results in various categories of piano solos, piano duets, harp duets, vocal solos, vocal duets, and school choir.  She has been active in teaching piano, vocal, playgroup, conducting, and providing accompaniment at the music classes, choirs, ensembles, schools, and conservatoires.

As a soloist and an accompanist, Sharon has given public and private recitals extensively at major venues in Hong Kong, including City Hall, Cultural Centre, and various town auditoriums.  Sharon is also an in-demand solo pianist and harpist performing a wide repertoire of light classical, show and pop tunes at various venues such as The Peninsula, Four Seasons, Island Shangri-La Hotel, Disneyland Hotel, Gold Coast, The Aberdeen Marina Club, and The Peak etc.

In her leisure time, Sharon enjoys running, hiking, horse riding, and she is also a certified yoga teacher.

MRS. C. HUNG

Piano & Playgroup Teacher

C. Hung received her Bachelor of Education (Music) degree and certificate of Music Education at The Education University of Hong Kong.  She studied piano training under the tutelage of Miss Anna Zhu from a young age, who has inspired her a lot.  When she determined to be an all-round music teacher, she studied piano pedagogy with Miss C. Kwok, music education with Dr. Cheung Yung Wai Yee, vocal conducting with Miss Gladys Wong, and music composition with Dr. Jason Chen.


C. Hung is a very experienced piano teacher who has been teaching for over a decade.  She was a music teacher in International Christian Quality Music primary and secondary school and Head music teacher in Concordia Lutheran School from 2004 to 2012.  She is very experienced in leading choir, pop band, and worship team, coordinating students recital, and school music concerts.  She was the Music Director and Composer of the school musical “Noah’s ark".


After giving birth to two kids, C. Hung started to be a full time piano teacher, accompanist, music and singing playgroup teacher in various schools like York international kindergarten and Discovery Mind Primary School.  With her knowledgeable experience, she is very passionate to provide a lively, inspirational, and professional music class.

ANGELA CHIU

Piano & Percussion Teacher

Angela Chiu graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (First Class Honours) in English Language and Literature, and later obtained a Master of Arts (First Class Honours) in Music at Hong Kong Baptist University.  While attending at HKBU, Angela had the honour to be the recipient of Madam K.S. Fung Wu Memorial Scholarship.  She was twice awarded the Scholastic Award for achieving the highest GPA in the graduating class of both B.A. and M.A. Angela studied piano pedagogy under the guidance of Dr. Helen Cha and Dr. Karl Lo, and early child music education under Dr. Fanny Chung and Prof. Cecilia Wang.  She also studied music history with Dr. Michael Ryan and music theory with Prof. Edward Ho. 


    Angela has been teaching music theory, piano and drum set for over a decade, she is particularly experienced in teaching young children.  She also enjoys working for the Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music as an exam interpreter, where she has the opportunity to work with different examiners and to meet students at different levels.


    Currently, Angela is studying for her Ph.D. in Music at Hong Kong Baptist University under the supervision of Dr. Esther Mang.  Combining her background in linguistics and music, her research interest is highly interdisciplinary.  Her current research study works with 6- and 12-month-olds and seeks to investigate the effects of language environment on musical and linguistic auditory processing. 


    In her leisure time, Angela enjoys tap dancing, fishing, and fixing cars.

LISA LIN

Piano & Vocal Teacher

Lisa Lin, an active choral conductor, music educator, and church musician. 


Lisa has devoted into choral music and music education as her career in the past decade. She was appointed as assistant conductor at Hong Kong Baptist University for University Choir and Women’s Chorus.  On top of her collegiate teaching experience, Lisa also holds passion in early childhood music education.  She had held the choir instructor position at Hong Kong Yip’s Children’s Choir for years.  Meanwhile, Lisa also experienced in teaching private lesson of piano, voice, and theory.


In addition to her educational achievement, Lisa is also active with choral performance.  She was the member of Westminster Choir, performed at Spoleto Festival USA at Charleston, US, 11th World Symposium on Choral Music 2017 at Barcelona, Spain, and tour performances in different states in America. She also has performed with Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Philadelphia Philharmonic Orchestra, New York Philharmonic Orchestra with world-renowned conductors Sir Simon Rattle, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Alan Gilbert, and Jane Glover, etc as a member of Westminster Symphonic Choir. 


As a church musician, Lisa has wide range working experience for a long time that she directs church choirs, bell choirs, and children’s choirs at churches.  Lisa is currently a doctoral candidate in choral conducting at Michigan State University (US), recently obtained her Master of Music degree at the world-renowned choral institution Westminster Choir College (US), also received her Master of Arts (Music) in Choral Conducting at Hong Kong Baptist University and Bachelor of Arts (Music) in Music Education at Xinghai Conservatory of Music (CH).

ALVIN CHOW

Violin & Vocal Teacher

Having almost 10 years of experience in music educating, Alvin has been acclaimed by the local community due to his competitive teaching style to cope with the current trend in music learning. 


Alvin is an all-rounded musician of course, music enthusiast.  He raised up in classical music background, specialised in Violin and Piano, he is a piano accompanist in several area, ballet schools and examinations.  Apart from his classical music background, he is also a vocalist and to strive for his music dream, he decided to participated in singing competitions.  He has been awarded 2nd runner up in TVBA Chinese New Talent Singing Competition (Melbourne region) in 2018 and 1st runner up in Joint Universities Singing Contest hosted by the HKSA of the University of Melbourne in the same year.

As an experienced musician and vocalist, Alvin has made his experience on stage to be part of the material for his students in all aspects.  He chooses to be student-oriented and very willing and patiently to listen, to learn, to set a suitable method of learning for different age group starting from the age of 4.  He is currently working with a few associations such as Methodist International Church Hong Kong, St. Stephen's Church College as Violin teacher for 6 years.  He is a Violinist and also the Conductor of the children choir associated with the Asia Chamber of Orchestra.

VINCENT LAU

Guitar & Ukulele Teacher

With over a decade of experience in jazz and classical guitar, Vincent is one of the raising stars in the local music scene.  He has developed his own style and technique, which won him various awards including the Best Guitarist Award in the Caritas Music Competition in 2005, 2007, and 2008.

Embarking on his career as a full-time musician, Vincent has performed with famous musicians and musical groups, including II Divo, Ted Lo, AGA, Cy Leo, Moon Haewon (Vocalist of Winterplay), the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong, Yin Ng, Robynn Yip (Robynn and Kendy), and Patrick Tang.  He is currently taking part in Cy Leo’s new project, which the band will be on tour in Asia in near future.  Apart from jamming with different artists, Vincent also formed his own band Fusion Pig, which is well known for adding a fusion taste in original pieces, received a lot of good comments after performing at numerous wedding banquets, company and private events.

As an acclaimed music educator, Vincent has been teaching at international schools and institutions actively, such as Harrow International School, French International School, and Yew Chung international school.  He enjoys conducting one-on-one class for students of all ages with different cultural background.  His student-oriented teaching philosophy focuses on both the enjoyment of performing music, and techniques on progress learning.
